　　Long ago and far away， there lived a princess. On her birthday， she said： “I want a ball made of gold.” So a craftsman (工匠) made her a gold ball.

　　很久很久以前，在很远的地方，住着一位公主。在她生日那天，她说：“我想要一个金球。于是一个工匠给她做了一个金球。

　　One day， the princess was playing with her ball. But the ball fell into the pond. “I lost my ball made of gold！” she said. She began to cry.

　　一天，公主正在玩她的球。但是球掉进了池塘。“我的金球丢了！””她说。她哭了起来。

　　A small frog jumped over to the princess. “I can get your ball back，” the frog said. “But you must promise to be my friend.” “Easy！” said the princess. “I will do that.”

　　一只小青蛙向公主跳过去。“我可以把你的球拿回来。”青蛙说。“但是你必须答应做我的朋友。“简单！”公主说。“我会的。”

　　So the frog jumped into the pond. He got the ball back. “Now we will be friends，” he said. The princess grabbed (抢) the ball. She did not say “thank you” to the frog. “Hey！” said the frog. “What about your promise？” But the princess just ran away.

　　于是青蛙跳进了池塘。他把球拿了回来。“现在我们将成为朋友，”他说。公主抢过了球。她没有对青蛙说“谢谢”。“嘿！青蛙说。“你的诺言呢？”但是公主却跑掉了。

　　That night， as the princess ate her supper， she heard a sound. The queen opened the door. It was the frog！ “Good evening，” he said. “I want the princess to be my friend. She promised me，” said the frog. “I can’t be friends with a cold， wet frog！” said the princess. “A promise is a promise，” said the queen.

　　那天晚上，当公主吃晚饭时，她听到了一个声音。王后打开了门。是青蛙！“晚上好，”他说。“我想让公主成为我的朋友。她答应过我的。”青蛙说。“我不能和一只又冷又湿的青蛙做朋友！””公主说。王后说：“一言为定。”
